Her heart was beating
and her body was shaking.
Her eyes were blinking
and her mind was struggling.
Standing right next to her,
I was sane and sober;
witnessed everything
but unable to do anything.
Gulping for air
as a fish jumped out of water.
Hoping there could be someone
who cares enough, but there was none.
I leaned over and held her hand.
She gave me a hug and we were one.
We pulled ourselves together and
the shadows were all gone...
