    In the previous article , we understand in the different phase of the lifecycle product , the responsibilities as a product manager / product owner are quite different . So what really the skill they need to have and what they need to be accountable for in the daily work , this article will show you the answers.


    Cross-functional team management

    Management the relationship between members of development team such as UI/UX designer , front-end developer ,back-end developer ,QA team ,Customer success team ,Ops team and so on

    Communicatedifferent "language"with different member , to make sure they are "hearing"and understanding

    Be honest , transparent ,professional ,respect  ,compassionate to gain their trust and respect as a intangible leader in the team .majority members they actually do not need to be managed but need to be encouraged ,motivated and supported .


    Stakeholder Relationship Management

    Represent the business for the product, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that their views and requirements are captured in the product backlog.

    Treat your customer as "partners" not just clients, to join them in your own team intangiblly , communicate with them deeply , ask more and learn more about them .

    We are building the product for our partners , so we always need focus on the value and objective what they wanna to achieve.

    Be respect , sometimes they will be confusing and not logical ,but never ignore them and disresepct them , understand they are not technical persons and they have different view to see the things .

    Be professional , we need to do the right decision for the product for our partners because they are not building the product on their own but we did  . do not always say yes , be professional to gain the partner's trust .


    People Management

    Create asupportive work environmentin which employees are supported from each other through development.

    Continuously monitor andevaluate team workloadandorganizational efficiency with the support of data and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.

    Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and adidas Digital objective


    Product Strategy & Delivery

    Be accountable for the product success considering the value for the consumer and the company (ROI).

    Specify theproduct vision and roadmap as well asuser stories considering the value for the consumer and the company .

    Be accountable for product delivery in line with the roadmap and committeddelivery dates.

    Coordinate interfaces between different product teams in your area of responsibility.

    Execute an inspiring product vision and drive the tactical roadmap for Personalization and the related experiences in collaboration with Analytics, Design, Digital Strategy and Markets.

    Analyzemarket and competitors in the plan phase , create product plan and long-term roadmap and be able to pivot your plan to an ever-changing technology environment.

    Analyze and design the prototypes in the define phase ,to reduce the risk of failure and start-over and enhance the effeciency and effectiveness .


    Backlog Management

    Prioritize the itemsin your product backlog.Specify the definition-of-donein cooperation with the product team(s).

    Own the refinement of your product backlog to ensure that the product team(s) is/are delivering the right enhancementsto drive consumer and business value.

    Provide acceptance for delivered backlog items by the team, in line with the definition-of-done.


    Monitoring

    Be accountable formonitoring, optimization and enhancementof the configuration, features and functionalities related to the product.

    Ensure that objective data sources and feedbackare used for the optimization of the product.

    Evaluateproduct performance/user behavior using data and research, recommend next-step iterations/next phase development and improve product KPIs.

    Regularly collect and analyze user feedback and data using qualitative and quantitative techniques to better understand how people interact with your product and discover opportunities to improve the product.

    Continuously use your own product to discover shortcomings and opportunities for improvement, as well as empathize with the users. Analyze competitors’ offerings to understand if your product is sufficiently differentiated.
