The way making a person person is how he sees the world not the way he presents. It is Quite disappointed after watching the documentary named Vladimir Putin- The World Most Powerful President from BBC. Although I am a big fan of BBC's documentary, this one made BBC no different from the other documentary maker.
Maybe it because the topic of this certain documentary, everything changed. Even if I knew that when mentioned about Putin, no western media likes him, the biases was so obvious. However, I need to say the structure and the idea of the documentary are really specific-- why he is the most powerful president. From how he grew up, what he do as a KGB member to what he have done when he got the stage. Everything is clear with the witness' words. It presents a huge picture of the powerful president.
Unfortunately, when I reviewed my notes about this documentary. It only provide one side of the coin. The only person from the Putin side was given less than ten minutes, which is extremely shorter than the others. All the witness are under the western protection, for instance, the people who are under deportation or the professor from the US university. Although, some of them may give certain evidence to show how evil he is, the imagination is still exist. I am not Putin's supporter, while, as a random person who know nothing about Russia before, I will believe this is the worst president in the world because the corruption and the control of his people and his country. The certain image was made by this documentary causes the bias about this country and its people which I believe is not fair at all.
What made me even worse is this was made by BBC, which was recognized as the most famous and justifiable TV channel in the world. If this was made by CNN, it will be acceptable. When it comes to BBC, which always provides the most fair view about the world. I will question why they produce this documentary, is it help people to know what the man really is or is it for critisize? I am totally confused by the goal. We were taught by teachers that every coin has two sides and why it is important to have critical thinking. While, the world not prove us at all.
The above discussion is made by myself after I watched the documentary on the website. If you do not like it, it is fine. Because I respect everyone's own opinion.
Have a good day!
