Without realizing it, 199 days had passed, and I had written 199 essays. When I finish this work, I will have written 200 essays. What a milestone! A round of applause for myself!
Life presents us with an unexpected gift at every twist and turn. We must perceive the beauty in all that unfolds before us.
This afternoon, a pre-arranged cross-cultural discussion was supposed to take place between students from four countries. I had sent several emails to the overseas students over the past few days to remind them of every detail. However, just 30 minutes before the meeting started, they set out to install the app on their electronic devices. Only one Russian girl managed to enter the online meeting room. However, the majority of foreign students could not join us because of some technical problems. I asked customer service for help and they told me to try other browsers, which did not work either. Finally, we had to cancel and postpone the meeting till the week after next. The Chinese students had been waiting for one hour in vain, for which I am extremely sorry.
Reflecting on this unfortunate event, I learned a few lessons:
First, the world is becoming more and more conservative, refraining from outside connections. In the past, international travel and visits were so convenient and frequent that international exchanges were face-to-face. Until last year, overseas students could easily access Wechat, but this year WeChat has become a challenge for overseas users. Opening up seems to have been reversed by the strike of COVID.
Second, be proactive! Only having a Plan A is not enough. We should be prepared with a Plan B and even a Plan C. I should have asked my friend for help and had one Zoom meeting as a standby. If Zhumu did not work, we could have switched to Zoom
Third, these foreign students are more relaxed than Chinese. They should have installed the app at least a day before. If they had failed earlier and let me know, I could have prepared better. So early preparation is always necessary
Although today's meeting failed and the Chinese students wasted their time, I do not think it's a completely bad incident, because an idea has suddenly come to me. Namely, I will record the future meeting and select a part of it as a demonstration of my intercultural teaching to submit to a competition to be held next month. If the materials are so important, then I should plan every detail very well. Right now I am not in the perfect state and my preparation is inadequate. Maybe it is God's will that today's meeting went busted because He has something better planned for me later on.
Wow, it must be like that! I will make good use of the following days and plan the next online discussion very carefully so that it will turn out to be demonstratable.

坚持日更两百天纪念
不知不觉中，199天过去了，我已经写了199篇小文。当我完成这项工作时，我将写了200篇文章。这是一个多么重要的里程碑啊! 为自己鼓掌！
生活中的每一个转折点都会给我们带来意想不到的礼物。我们必须学会体察诸事之美好。
今天下午，预先安排了一场四个国家学生之间的线上跨文化讨论会。在过去几天里，我给海外学生连发了多封电子邮件，提醒他们每一个细节。然而，就在会议开始前30分钟，他们才开始安装应用程序。只有一个俄罗斯女孩成功地进入线上会议室。然而，由于一些技术问题，大多数外国学生都无法加入会议。我向客服人员咨询，他让外国学生尝试使用其他浏览器，但也没有毛用。最后，不得不取消今天的会议，将其推迟到下下一周。中国学生们白白等了一个小时，对此我深表遗憾。
反思这个失败事件，我悟出一些道理：
第一，世界正变得越来越保守，与外界的联系变得越来越艰难。过去，国际旅行和访问非常方便和频繁，国际交流是直接且面对面的。直到去年，海外学生还可以很容易地访问微信，但今年外国学生在国外用微信已经成了个巨大的挑战。对外开放的势头似乎被COVID的来袭所逆转。
第二，未雨绸缪! 光有A计划是不够的。应该准备好B计划，甚至C计划。我应该向我的朋友寻求帮助，提前备一个Zoom会议作替补。如果Zhumu不起作用，我们可以改用Zoom。
第三，这些外国学生比中国人马大哈得多。他们应该至少提前一天开始安装应用程序。如果他们早点失败并让我知道，我可以准备得更充分。所以早点准备总是不会错的。
虽然今天的会议失败了，中国学生浪费了时间，但我不认为这是一个完全糟糕的事件，因为我突然萌生了一个好主意。即，我要把下次会议录下来，并选择其中的一部分作为我跨文化教学的示范案例，提交给下个月举行的教学比赛。如果材料如此重要，那么我就应该缜密地设计每一个细节。然而现在我还没有达到令自己满意的状态，准备工作并不充分。也许这是神的旨意，今天的会议破灭了，因为他有更好的计划等着我。
