The movie everything everywhere all at once is so fantastic that I was totally immersed in that fictive universe for a spell after finishing watching it.
Regardless of the surprisingly innovative manifestation including the combination of tradition and futurism, western and eastern, two-dimensional and three-dimensional, I'm obsessed with the philosophy it meant to deliver.
Somehow it's supposed to be impacted by existentialism. We human beings are thrown into the world without any purpose. Therefore, we are inclined to leap into chaos and nothingness, just like the daughter Joy totally lost control in her early adulthood. Interesting enough, we are also blessed with the enegy springs from a life deprived of its normal supports. The heroine devoted herself to getting family back on track, it didn't occur to her to become an opportunity for her exploring all potential universes she has.
Every tiny choice turns your life into different unviverse. You could be a super success star or a miserable laundry store owner. It's annoying but make sense. We all wondering whether there is better version of ourselves in parallel universes because sometimes we feel so suck in current world. The movie tries to demenstrate but not intend to offer an absolute answer. No more anxiety and regret, hopefully in this universe we all could embrace the least desirable "self" with love, courage, kindness and hope, and make use of everything everywhere all at once to reach for a lively and enquiring life!
