    Story about culture products and their copyright between China and other regions

    In almost recent 10 years, culture from other places having prevailed among Chinese people, such as Japanese animation, Korean TV programs, European movies and so on. President Xi advocates that China should be confident in our own culture after coming to power, pointing out that soft power also play an important part in international influence of a country.

    Accompany with the flourish of Internet, the information of video form gets its market, thus TV program would play an important role in culture exchange.In this story, the data of the amount of money and copyrights from 2008-2015 are used to analysis the situation of imported and exported TV programs.

    Chart 1 is a tree map which contains both the total money amount and the regions of imported and exported TV programs from 2008 to 2015.From chart 1 we can see that trade deficit exist on TV program, the import amount is more than as twice as the export. Most of the imported TV programs are from Asia, followed by America, South America and Europe.

    From Chart 2 we can see that TV programs from and to Asia tops among 6 areas. And the import amount of Asia is 317,550,000, as almost 3 times as its export, 87,025. TV program from Africa and the Oceania is far more less than other areas.

    Chart 3 shows that during all kinds of imported TV programs, TV series takes up the biggest part, and the document occupies the least. Among them, the TV series from Korea tops up, followed by TV series and animation from Japan.

    The Chart 4 shows that it is Britain but not America that has been a big copyright-export country to China, and year 2010 has witnessed a boom in copyright import of China.

    Chart 5 has illustrates that during 2008-2015, Asia has been the biggest continent we exported our TV programs, and Oceania is the least, which could due to the proximity of culture among Asia countries. Our strongest form of TV program is TV series. Not until 2011 did our documentary, the most objective way for people from other countries to learn about China, steps into international market.

    In conclusion, China still has a big trade deficit in TV program trades to other countries. If we want to improve our international influence and attract more focus on us, improving the quality of our culture product and export them would be a pretty choice.
