Last night I quarreled with my roommate who slept in the room opposite my bedroom, that guy telephoned his colleague at 12 o’clock in the night, speaking loudly. The first time I told him politely that it’s midnight now and please kept your voice down or closed your own door and not to bother others. He promised that he will be careful, then I went to my bed and prepared to enjoy a sweet dream. Ten minutes later, he went to the public bathroom and shit on the toilet, still talking very loudly. I was really angry with him and rushed into the bathroom, I asked him why he talked so loudly again.
To my surprise, he said he didn’t think his sound volume would wake me and it’s my fault because of my deficiency of security and my sensitive personality.I was really stunned by his bullshit and his horrible attitude. How dare he say that? How dare he say it’s my cause after his terrible behavior and bringing the inconvenience to others? It’s midnight now! I calmed myself down and told him that what if I make noise to him in the daytime tomorrow. He said nothing, without any ashamed apologies either.
I was really tired and went back to sleep, filling with annoyance. I needed to take some precautions to deal with this kind of impolite behaviors, I thought so in my sleeping.
Now I am writing the story of last night, maybe I should be tolerant for his first mistake. If he insisted on his attitude and didn’t care the bad influence on others, I would invite the landlord and asked for a solution, maybe calling a police in the midnight will be better if the problem still couldn’t be solved. We are living in a civilized society governed by law, we cannot use the cursing and fighting ways to solve problems.
Suddenly, I recall a story narrated by MoYan , the Chinese winner of Noble Prize for Literature. He said that when he was a kid an old beggar didn’t appreciate for MoYan’s food provision and falsely accused MoYan of providing inferior food to him. How dare the old beggar do that? The similar confusion occurs in MoYan’s mind. He didn’t know how to react to this situation, me too.
Life is full of frictions, conflicts. Learn to empty your mind and forget the unhappy affairs, open your mind and broaden your heart, put all your attention into the achievement you’re eager to obtain and the person you want to be, you will get promotion in the future and never stay with those people you don’t like.This is the right solution, isn’t it?
