My hometown

1. What kind of place is your hometown?

My hometown is Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province. Besides its historical attractions,this city is known for its tasty foods. It is also the cultural and political centre of Northwestern China.

2. What are the maintourist attractions in your hometown?

TheTerracotta Warriors are considered the eighth wonder of the world. Next to the Terracotta Warriors is the Huaqing Palace, an ancient spa for royal people. Both attract thousands of people to visit them every year.

3. What are the peoplelike in your hometown?

~They are welcoming and uninhibited. People talk loudly and laugh heartily. Everybody in the neighbourhood can hear it. They are also very hospitable.Whenever I come home, my neighbours give me the fresh fruits and vegetables they have planted.

4. What places in yourhometown do you like best? tell me why?

I like my old house in the country. I wake up to the sounds of birds every morning.Before cooking dinner, my mother picks vegetables from the pocket garden in our backyard. The fresh air and the beauty of nature bring peace to people.

5. Do you think your hometown is a good place for a young person to live?

~Definitely. The education system in Xi'an is complete there. And there are lots of job opportunities for young people.

6. What disadvantage of living in your hometown?

~The cost of living is high, and traffic jams are frequent.
