看美剧学英语，是提高听力口语，学习最地道口语表达方式的绝佳途径。这点毋庸置疑。不过美剧还是要精挑细选的，并非都“开卷有益”，有些价值观容易误导年轻人。
为什么选择美剧《吉尔莫女孩》？

《吉尔莫女孩》S1E1（第一季第一集）。
剧情简介：本剧的主角是妈妈Lorlei和女儿Lory，围绕他们的生活、工作、学习展开一系列的故事。同时，在亲情，友情，爱情的体验中，他们每一个人都得到了成长，在每一个人的生命里都留下了无法磨灭的印记。

sweet:
1）用来指”糖果”时，可以说，a sweet（一块糖果）, five sweets，many sweets.
2）作为形容词：sweet tea, sweet wine.

If you describe someone as sweet, you mean that they are pleasant, kind, and gentle towards others.
例子：how sweet of you to think of me.

attend to: means to deal with sth, 处理，从事于…

4. It is due tomorrow.
due: 形容词，“到期的，预期到达的”。
If something is due at a particular time, it is expected to happen, be done, or arrive at that time.
例子：your rent is due at the end of the month. 月底你的租金就到期了。
Mr Carter is due in London on Monday. 卡特先生预期星期一到达伦敦。
Due to =owing to, 因为，由于
例子：Due to the bad weather, the airplane was delayed.
