总是让人想起火的舞蹈和风采
The sorghum gazing at autumn, red in the eyes and blushed in the face
Always reminds people of the dance and elegant demeanor of fire
一坡一梁的红火焰啊
就这么从北方的高地漫过来
The red flames spread out from hillsides and ridges
To the whole highlands of the north
象雨后奔涌湍急的洪水
漫过山岭漫过河流漫过鸟翅
漫过我热泪喷涌的心坎
Like a torrential flood after the rain
Rushing over mountains, rivers, and the birds' wings
And rushing over my heart full of tears

高粱的队伍，高举着燃烧的信念
是火烈烈的风范与真情
Teams of sorghum , holding high the burning belief
Are of fiery demeanor and true feelings
一株红高粱就是一把
跳跃呐喊的红火炬啊
A red sorghum is a red torch
That jumps and shouts
顺着秋风萧瑟的思绪
高粱们，高举着自己燃烧的头颅
Along the thoughts of the rustling autumn wind
Sorghum holds up their burning heads
以英雄豪杰的风采追逐秋天

Chasing autumn with heroic demeanour
Majestically, without hesitation

The eyes of farmers are constantly lit up by the fire of sorghum
The poor have kindled a fire of hope year after year
Poor mountain villages pray for peace and harvest year after year
