A Little Fault

I met one of my colleague this morning, we have a good relationship. She is ten year older than me, but we have many common topics to discuss. She often  provides some advice for me to deal with difficulties which I confronted in my life. I saw that she has changed her hair style and I wanted to give her a praise. Then I cannot help blurting out: you are the lady that the older you become, the more fashionable you have. Her response appeared a little unnatural. I awared of my fault at once. No woman like the word “old” is used for herself. But I have been unable to take back the word I said.
