soft spot 

表示非常喜欢，代替like something／someone very much 

比如，我们想表示“xx控”时，就可以用到 soft spot： 

I have a soft spot for stationery/cats. （文具控/猫咪控） (stationery 表示文具，不可数名词)

英文中常用“sweet tooth”表示喜欢吃甜品，someone has a sweet tooth 就是某人很喜欢吃甜品。我们可以用 soft spot 来解释这个表达： 

If you have a sweet tooth, you have a soft spot for sweet foods, especially sweets and chocolate. 

今年三月份，法国总统马克龙在巴黎法兰西学院（Académie Française ）演讲，表达自己希望弘扬法语的心声。《经济学人》随后在语言板块 Johnson 中写道： 

The French have a soft spot for authority, and the mighty presidency and the academy are both symbols of that. 

这段话是说法国人崇尚权威，这一点可以从法国总统的权力和法兰西学院的设定中就可以看出来。
