It is easy to muddle two seperate issues. One is whether the blockchain technology which underpins bitcoin will be wildely used. Another is as a currency, whether bitcoin will be applied into our daily life. The answer of the latter should be no.
There're three main functions of currency: store of value, means of exchange, unit of account. Bitcoin does not meet it because of it volatility.
