Summary
"The author's writing skills is so mature , she is an awesome story-teller." That is what I thought when I finished this chapter and went back to paragraph one .
The author told us the reason why Lydia is dead directly .Because her mother wants to stand out and her father wants to blend in ,and those thing are impossible .So , the author focused on telling us how they try to achieve the "impossible things ".
Marilyn , always trying to stand out by doing well in academic studies , rejecting her mother's lifestyle and even refusing the men that asked her to movies for they are look alike .James also does lot to blend in , such as prepares well in case his classmates ask him play together , choose to study American culture and keeps his parents as a secret to Marilyn.James choose to accept her not because of love but for she can blend in perfectly .
This kind of marriage can't be happy and it influenceed Lydia greatly , that's why Lydia have so much pressure in study and have to keep contacts with her friends .
