I fell not for your temp’ral grace

since it does shine for aye.

I will not love your changing face,

to me in youth you stay. 

Nor do I shrine your pilgrim’s soul,

too saintly for my reach.

Yet my heart does for you extoll:

‘tis my life’s sole beseech.
