older people

In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Is this a positive or negative development ? （参考提纲如下）

老人: older people; the elderly; senior citizens; the older generation.

开头段：我认为这个趋势给我们的社会带来更大的挑战(greater challenges)

Body-1: 给政府带来更大的经济压力(greater financial burden on the government)。老年人增多意味着更多人的be eligible to receive a pension。Furthermore，导致  a rise in the demand for healthcare。还需要建更多的养老院(nursing homes)和培养医生以及护士(nurse)。

Body-2: 给年轻人带来更大的压力。 young adults will increasingly have to look after their elderly relatives. 年轻人需要更多的帮助老年人处理一些housework, 或者承担一些生活开销。

Body-3: The increase in percentage of elderly would lead to economic slump. Initially, employers would complain that they could not find sufficient young workers, not to mention qualified ones. Thus factories and companies, especially those labour demanding industries, may find it difficult to expand their business and also their local markets may shrink.

Conclusion: 我的观点是这总体是一个消极的趋势。

补充: 老年人比例的增加也有一些好处的。如果他们足够健康，可以帮助工作的年轻人照看孩子。我们也可以把老年人recruit到公司给年轻人指导和share experience.
