1.rule somebody/something out

explanation: to decide that something is not possible or suitable

e.g. The police have ruled out suicide.

2.doctor

Rogers then entered the room with the brandy which, of course, he could quite well have doctored before entering the room.

explanation: to add something harmful to food or drink

e.g. Paul suspected that his drink had been doctored.

3.recrimination

No good result can come from recrimination.

explanation: when you blame or criticize someone for something that has happened

e.g. Bitter accusations and recriminations followed the disaster.

4. bear somebody/someone out

Blore said: "I was with Mr. Lombard and Dr. Armstrong all the morning. They'll bear me out."

explanation: if facts or information bear out a claim, story, opinion etc, they help to prove that it is true

e.g. Evidence bears out the idea that students learn best in small groups.
