University graduation marks a turning point for undergraduate collage students. When fishing their undergraduate studies, the students will face a problem: to find a job or further learn their study. So what factors they will consider? I think there are three factors they should take into consideration, including their career, financial status and personal preferences.
The first factor that undergraduate students should consider when deciding between job and education is their intended career. For a majority of students, to say the least, deciding which job they want upon graduation is a difficult thing. Because they don’t know whether the job need a higher degree or not. If one job just need a bachelor’s degree, while they overestimate the job that they want to get and then choose to enroll in postgraduate studies, finally wasting the time for two or three years. If a master’s degree, but they underestimate and then fail to the job. So they should ask some people who know how to estimate a job correctly a help.
The second factor that students should consider is financial status. As we all known, if a person want to get a master’s degree, he or she must spend two or three years with a lot of money before graduating from school. Some students or their family can afford these extra expenses, while for others it would be too much of financial stain that they are not able to support . Scholarship, bursaries and loans may be available to some students, however it just can meet small part of students who have financial strain. So they should take this factor into account.
The third factor that undergraduate students should consider when deliberating between work and further education is their own personal preferences. Some student may feel that preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam is too much pressure for them to handle during their final year of undergraduate studies. Other students may have entrepreneurial ambitions and dream of running their own business. Still others may wish to gain some work experience after graduation and wait a few years before returning to university. These individuals preferences should be given due consideration as students approach the end of their undergraduation education.
When it comes time for university graduates to decide their next step in life, there is no one right or wrong choice for everyone. Rather, each student must reach his or her own conclusion. By taking career goals, financial status and personal preferences into consideration, students can improve their chances of making an optimal choice.
