Jack and Jessie need to have a check-up with their dentist.

Mr Judd phones to make an appointment.

A few days later,they go to see the dentist.

Mrs.Judd takes Jake and Jessie in her car.

Jasper goes too,but he won’t be allowed to go in with them.

The dentist is very busy.
牙医真的太忙啦。
There are lots of people waiting to see him.

Jake and Jessie play in the waiting room until it is their turn.
Jack和Jassie在等待室里边玩边等。
Jake and Jessire meet the dental nurse.
Jack和Jassie见到了牙科护士。
She calls them in to see the dentist.
她叫他们去见牙医。
She is going to help with Jack and Jessie’s check- up.
她会帮助Jack和Jassie做牙齿检查。
“Hello Jack,hello Jessie,”says the dentist.
“你好Jack，你好Jessie!”牙医打招呼道。
“Hello,”say Jack and Jessie.
“Hello!”Jack和Jassie也打招呼道。
The dentist says that Mrs.Judd can come in and watch.
牙医说Judd太太也可以进来观看。
Jessie goes first.
Jessie先去检查了。
The dental nurse puts a bib around Jessie’s neck.
牙科护士在Jessie的脖子周围放了围兜。
Then Jessie sits in a special chair that can go up and down.

Jessie has her teeth checked.

There is a spotlight above Jessie which shines into her mouth.

The dentist wears special gloves and a mask over his nose and mouth.

He puts the chair back before the checks Jessie’s teeth.

Jessie opens her mouth wide.

He uses a mirror to see inside.

The dentist looks at each of Jessie’s teeth.

The dental nurse writes down notes about them.

The dentist has finished with Jessie.

He is very pleased with her.

Jessie has no holes in her teeth.

Now she can rinse out her mouth.

Now its Jack’s turn.

When the dentist checks Jack’s teeth he finds a small hole in one of them.
当牙医给Jack检查牙齿时发现了一个小洞。
This means that Jack needs to have a filling.

The dentist decides that Jack’s tooth should be numbed.
牙医决定先麻醉Jack的牙齿。
He rubs on some gum paste and gives him an injection.

Jack has a filling.

The dentist drills away the bad part of Jack’s tooth.

The dental nurse keeps it dry with a suction pipe.

Then she mixed a special paste to put into the hole.
然后她混合了一些特殊的膏体涂在虫洞里面。
It is shiny and white.
那些膏体看起来是闪亮的，白色的。
The dentist presses the paste into the clean hole.
牙医把膏体压入了干净的洞里。
Now Jack will not get a toothache.
现在Jack不会再感到牙疼了。
The children learn how to look after their teeth.
孩子们学习如何保护自己的牙齿。
The dentist shows them what will happen if they don’t take care of their teeth properly.
牙医演示给他们看如果不好好保护牙齿的话会发生什么。
He says they should be careful what they eat and drink ,
他说他们应该当心平时吃的东西，
because sugar and sweet foods and drinks are bad for teeth.
因为糖，甜食，甜饮料都对牙齿很不好。
The dental nurse shows them how to brush their teeth really well.
牙医演示给他们看怎么样细致地刷牙。
This gets rid of old food which can cause holes.
这样牙齿里不会有食物残渣，食物残渣容易让牙齿蛀牙。
Jack and Jessie must brush their teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to keep them clean and healthy.
Jack和Jassie必须每天刷牙两次，用含氟的牙膏刷牙可以保持牙齿的清洁和健康。
Jack and Jessie go home.
Jack和Jassie回家了。

Mrs.Judd makes an appointment to see the dentist for another check-up after six months.
Judd太太预约了六个月之后的又一次检查。
