The SV project started as a way to restore the original bitcoin protocol. The fact that the project was developed was based on the fact that Satoshi Nakamoto used scripts as extensions to implement various interrelated functions that went beyond the cash function. The reactivation of the Nakamoto opcode provides the means needed to implement smart contracts, transaction tagging, and other advanced technical features used on Bitcoin. The original protocol has the key attributes needed to fuel bitcoin’s growth, so it should be widely adopted and not subject to frequent change.

After restoring Satoshi Nakamoto’s original protocol, the protocol needs to remain stable. The protocol should remain locked except for any critical security fixes that may need to be performed. This stability will give businesses around the world the confidence to build applications and projects based on stable bitcoins (BSV) . For example, the protocol base of an Internet platform has changed little since the platform was built so that companies can plan their long-term projects on solid platforms. The bitcoin blockchain will also provide the same level of protocol stability as the Internet platform.

In this section, we want to give a high-level overview of the road map for the future, including two protocol upgrade dates. It is broadly divided into two categories: Extension and protocol recovery.

Going back to Satoshi Nakamoto’s bitcoin would require two upgrades.

The first upgrade, codenamed “Quasar” , was proposed for July 24,2019 and focused on extensions. At the protocol level, the only change in this upgrade plan is to remove the hard upper limit on the default block size. We have previously expressed interest in raising the cap to 512M, but after consulting with the Bitcoin Institute (owner of the Bitcoin SV project) and the miners representing the vast majority of Hash rates, we decided that Bitcoin SV would be set to 2g by default in the July upgrade. Initially most miners will set their hard hashes to 512M by hand. The reason is simple: the SV Network unexpectedly hit the 128M limit early, and the miners did not want to update it soon after raising the limit. If the default is 2G, then by consensus, the miner can raise the limit without further software changes.

The second and more important upgrade will take place on February 4,2020, and will include a series of modifications to the restoration agreement that will almost completely restore the original agreement, so we have decided to call it genesis. We propose that the upgrade date be 11 years, 1 month and 1 day after the creation of the Bitcoin Genesis Block, in honor of this upgrade represents a return to genesis and the restoration of Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision, which is the name and main purpose of the BITCOIN SV project.

Genisys upgrade will solve the problem of capacity expansion. We believe that by the end of 2019, the BITCOIN SV node will have all the necessary security mechanisms in place, allowing us to completely remove the block size cap and let the miners handle it without intervention from the developers. As long as these changes are completed, we expect to achieve unlimited capacity in the genesis upgrade over the next year.
