(同无聊的经历,反着说)
Ok, I'd like to tell you the story I traveled with one of my best friends to the city of Xi'an Last year. Her name is Shirley. We went there by rail. As you might've heard of, Xi'an is a city of more than 2000-year history. So there are many places I wanna visit, historical sites, ancient towers, temples, and museums. So I discussed with Shirley on the eve of our trip. And she said the trip for her was very simple. She would follow me wherever I go. I said ok, so I planned the trip in detail and was very excited to be there.
「But I didn't get to enjoy any of that. 」
Most of the historical places required an entrance ticket, which was between 「150 yuan to about 300 yuan. 」
「We both」 thought they were too expensive and 「decided」 to save the money to eat some local food. And when I changed my plan to the discovery of local delicious street food, 「we were impressed by the richness of tasty food」.
「There were hundreds of food stands along the street next to our hotel. There were traditional food, local new inventions, and food from other parts of the country. So we ended up eating too much and didn't have any energy to see any of those tourist sights at all.」
We spent 2 days there and then went back home. Well, it was true that I didn't get to do anything I planned but, it was such a good time because we had a mouthful of those tasty dishes.
Part 3
Who should people spend more time with? Families or friends?
In my opinion, families and friends are both irreplaceable in our life. Sparing time to be with either of them is a good thing. So for people nowadays who live and work far away from families, they need to spend more time with their families, through video chatting or traveling back to meet in person. And for a lot of people take the responsibility to care their family members, some time with friends can ease their mind and release the stress they have.
What's the difference between staying with friends and staying with family?
Well, on the one hand, we have a lot of common topics and similar interests with our friends. So staying with friends should probably be stress-free, as I have said before. On the other hand, staying with family is more like being in your own world, because your family know you and always love you. Personally, when I stay with my family, I am grateful for everything.
Do people prefer being with a large group of people or with a few friends?
Well, it depends. First, personality. Some people prefer to stay with a large group of people, for example, attending concerts, or other crowdy activities. They might be more outgoing or better at socialising with others. Others, like me, are more introverted and try to avoid big crowds. Second, it is about the feel of it. Sometimes even the most outgoing person wants just a few friends around, so this is basically a matter of choices.
Do science and technology improve the relationship between people?
Yes, on the one hand, the internet and smartphones become more popular. People connect with each other in a more frequent manner. For example, sending many messages instead of writing a formal email. So we might feel closer to each other. On the other hand, things like more high speed trains, the cheaper flights also enable us to stay in closer contact with our families and friends. But I'm not sure this kind of change is indeed improving, because sometimes we might feel more distant to other people when we know too much or phone other people too frequently.
