唱诗:诗篇32:2;

SIN AND SILENCE
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away.."(Psalm 32:3)
The sin of David and Bathsheba shows how easily people who love God can fall into sin. We learn that one sin leads to another. In this case, adultery leads to number. In order to cover up sin and guilt, we are able to go to great extremes.
It happens that we refuse to confess our sins. We pretend that the sin never happened. This can easily happen when the sinner is in a position of privilege. In David's case, who would dare challenge the beloved king?
David also resorted to silence. He thought he could act like it never happened and then perhaps it would go away by itself. The entire royal court may have known about David's sin, but no one dared to speak up. David chose the way of guilty silence. Perhaps he told himself that what he had done was not so bad, compared to all the good he had done in his life.
But the LORD did not allow David to maintain his silence. David increasingly suffered under the burden of his unconfessed sin. We read that his "bones wasted away" and his "strength was sapped as in the heat of summer"(Ps 32:3-4).
He was silent about his sin, but physically, mentally and spiritually, things were not as they seemed.He knew that he had grievously sinned.The weight of God's hand pressed upon him, and he lost the joy of faith.
Refusal to confess our known sins has an effect on us in every way. There is only one solution: "Then I acknowledged my sin to you" (Ps 32:5). Until we do this, our lives are burdened and empty. There is much to confess every day, and sometimes very specific sins must be brought before the LORD.
Question: What happens when we do not sincerely confess our sins?
