Today is the first day of gaokao. I couldn’t help thinking of my college entrance exam. In a normal classroom of County Nihe, there were 84 students in the classroom with four electric fans rotating.
Classes began at 7:20 a.m. and ended at 5:20p.m, while many students didn’t go home till 10:00p.m. We sat and hunched back, flicking through piles of past exam papers. We opened our eyes ， staring at the blackboard or the teachers tightly. At that time, we must endure years of stress and impossible expectations preparing for our final school exam. Every time we wanted to give up, we learned to encourage ourselves and insisted on. Because gaokao was brutal, a high or a low mark determines life opportunities and earning potentials.
I still remember my dear father was idling out of the school with grey hair shining in the sun. He was waiting for my older brother and me anxiously.
Luckily, my older brother and I passed the important exam.
