1. In terms of ceaft, there's no excuse for losing readers through sloppy workmanship.

sloppy: not done carefully or thoroughly 马虎的，不仔细的，草率的

仿写：His written reports are incredibly sloppy.

2. If they doze off in the middle of your article because you have been careless about a technical detail, the fault is yours. 

doze off: If you doze off, you fall into a light sleep, especially during the daytime. 打瞌睡

仿写：The film was so boring that I dozed off in the middle of it.

3.    But mainly what I like is that this is a man telling me unabashedly about a love affair with poultry that goes back to 1907.

unabashedly: in an unabashed manner 不害臊地；不怕羞地

仿写：You’ll never be free unless you unabashedly proclaim it within.

4.Here's an article from a famed newsmagazine that is hard to matchfor fatigue.

fatigue: very great tiredness

仿写: He’s suffering from physical and mental fatigue.

Reflection  Make a habit of reading what is being written today and what was written by earlier masters. Writing is learned by imitation. If anyone asked me how I learned to write, I’d say I learned by reading the men and women who were doing the kind of writing I wanted to do and trying to figure out how they did it. But cultivate the best models. Don’t assume that because an article is in a newspaper or a magazine it must be good.
