Determination to pursue further

I made an important determination that I willpursue a master’s degree during the following three years. To be honest, thismind appeared in 2019. I realized the master’s degree is necessary for mycareer after I joined XJTLU, where most staff have study experience aboard anda master's degree.

However, I just had my baby, a 1-year-old cute girl.I need to spend a lot of time taking care of her. Furthermore, I bought a bigger house and a new car by loan and borrowing money from my relatives. It was about 300,000 yuan in total.

At the end of 2021, I paid off all the loans and borrows, sum up all money I have had and calculate my salary, make sure it is enough to pay tuition for the master's program. Then, I reconsidered pursuing further study and received a conditional offer.

The way to happiness is strewn with setbacks. My mother-in-law left Suzhou from her hometown and I had to learn about cooking, do the household chore and do some outdoor exercise with my child. One week later, I have a feeling that I do have not enough time to attend master's courses and complete the essays.

To be or not to be, that's a question.

I have been on the winter holiday for 4 months because of the pandemic control. During that time, I try my best to balance life and work, but always feel lack of something——continuous learning and a master's degree.

I had a chat with my colleague,  who is in the same situation as me, owns a Bachelor's degree, and has a five-year child without her parents' help. She told me that she was admitted by Suzhou University for her master's degree, and now she hires an hourly maid to cook and do the housework. Bingo!  that's a choice. I could hire an hourly maid when I feel challengable to balance study, work,  and family.

Everything is ready except for passing the English test. I make a plan to learn English.

Firstly, squeeze time from daily chores and work. Such as 5:00-7:00 in the morning before Sky gets up, 14:00-16:00 when Sky sleeps, and 19:00-21:00 after dinner when Shy goes out for exercise with her father. 6 hours one day, it looks great.

Secondly, take advantage of each piece of time. Listen to English while cooking and doing the housework, recite words, or do some reading while Sky plays with toys.

Last but not the least, pay more attention to output and learn English by writing and speaking.

when you are ready to take on the challenges and spare no effort on them, God will help you achieve that.

【常范的错误】

The following is my first essay. There are many basic mistakes in the draft version.

1. a, an, the 乱用或漏掉；
2.动词后的动名词和不定时会用错；
3. and 前要么少写逗号，要么多写逗号。
4.第三人称后的动词没加S，或者前面是过去式后面就成了现在式。

以上小错误在写作时要多加注意，写完后自己先审核校对一遍，确认没毛病后再放到grammarly上筛查一遍。最后再发给燕子姐批改。

【写完后的感受】

1.开始写的过程中，还是中文思维为主，然后翻译英文。等到写完特别是改完后进行总结时，下笔无意识地想写英文而不是中文了。说明还是要多写多练，形成语感。

2.在翻译写作的过程中，有很多词语不知道怎么写，或者不清楚该用哪个词合适。有时想引用一些谚语，却不知道怎么翻译，就想查字典。这也是一个主动学习的过程。同第一条，还是得多练才能发现自己的短板。
