When I was a little girl， I was especially eager to grow up
=Being a little girl, I was especially eager to grow up.

分词作状语还有一种就是分词的主语和主句的主语不一致，叫做独立主格：

不一定非得是状语从句，才需要使用分词作状语

只要是类似逗号连接的两个句子，都可以把次要的句子变成分词作状语。

The boy sits in the corner， her eyes are fiiled with laugh.====>
The boy sitting in the corner, her eyes are filled with laugh.
