My office building and parking lot
Good morning readers!
Time really goes by fast. When a significant event happened many years ago, you still might remember exactly what you were doing at that time at the present time. 30 years ago today, I was still a graduate student studying and working hard toward my degree from a university in the U.S. So many memories!
OK, back to the present. Yesterday I left the office earlier. When I walked passing rolls of cars in the parking lot and near my car, I heard some kind of humming noise. Initially, I was worried about whether my car engine was still running. When I walked to my car, I felt the warmth of the air from a shanny new SUV parked to the left of my car. And I could confirm that this car was running without anybody inside. Strange!
So, now what do I do? I could just get into my car and leave, or I had to walk back to the building and inform the security guard for what's going on. Someone probably left the car there and forgot to turn off the engine. The car engine was running loudly with AC on. There was a water trail from underneath the car all the way to the nearby stormwater drainage well cover. It was clearly the car had been there running since this morning!
I sighed, and walked all the way back to the building and talked to the security guard. He followed me back to the running car. After we both looked around and inside, the guard pulled the door handle and it opened. So, the driver not only forgot to turn it off, and also forgot to lock the car. It was one of those newer cars that you would need to push a button to start or shut off. No wonder the driver forgot to turn it off. There won't be any warning when he forgot to his key with him when he left his car, because there wasn't any key to take from the car. The actual Bluetooth key was probably still in the driver's pocket.
So, be careful keyless entry car drivers. Make sure you turn it off before you get off your car!
