I know the net friend thing is a past tense now, but I've acquainted the best net friend ever lately.

I went through the messages we've sent to each other and found out it's been three months since she first texted me on Instagram. And she's been such an inspiration and a helping hand to me as well. She brought me a lot of new thinking and is helping me to find anything that I might be interested in from Youtube and things like that. She kinda became a window I could see the outside world through from a different perspective. I'm always grateful for her. So this diary is in honor of Jess.

Jess is a "successful" Youtuber. She's a Mongolian from Mongolia studying in the States. She’s only 15 but seems like she has the whole world in her mind. Since I love foreign cultures and all that so much, she's kinda living the life that I always longing for. She sent me a message on the Instagram the day I uploaded a video mostly talking about myself and the reasons why I started my channel. She asked me a bunch of questions related to Inner Mongolia and my life in Inner Mongolia. From then on, we kinda became friends.

She would "give me lessons" about our culture and history

she would recommend useful apps which are helpful to my learning, she would share her ideas about some issues, and we would talk over that, and most importantly, she gives me advice and corrections on my Mongolian-English translation.

Sometimes, we do "illegal" things, lol. Some of the apps she recommended are not that legal, we have to be careful when we use it. But it was fun talking about that tho.

In return, I would check out all the videos she shares and recommends. I would give her my feedback and exchange my thoughts with her. I would show her that I'm interested in the things she shares and I do really enjoy all that stuff, so she can keep sharing without hesitation.

One of the most impressive things is that, there was this one time she recommended a movie site of Mongolian movies. But it was Cyrillic all over. I know nothing about Cyrillic, so she said "she'll help". But what's "shocking" was that she even recorded a screen recording to guide me how to use it and where to find good movies. I was literally deeply touched at the time.

She reminds me of a book. In it, it says something about the Universal Language. The Universal Language is neither English nor Chinese, it's the kindness deep down in our heart.

Words can't even describe how generous and hospitable she is to me. In the mean time, she is changing my impression toward Mongolia. People around me would mostly tell me about the negative sides of Mongolia and the people there, even though some of them are just like me, never been to the real Mongolia.

The people I met from Mongolia were basically very nice, very easy to get along with by far. Of course there are bad or let's say "ugly" people out there, I mean everywhere. I encountered one guy from Mongolia who was so aggressive, who was not that friendly to me. But I'm okay with that, not everyone needs to be so friendly to for no reason anyway.

I still have countless of questions to ask her. Every time we would talk for hours, it's like we've known each other for centuries or so. I can't help but thinking how magical is the Universal Language. It brought us “together” and wouldn't it be amazing that one day, maybe in the future, we could talk to each other face to face, and I could tell her how grateful I am and all that cliche stuff.

Although she has her hundreds of thousands of fans to reply, she always has time for my questions. I think Mongolians are always like her ever since. Generous, hospitable,  open-minded, just to name a few... Having her as a friend or a little sister, I don’t know, we are learning from each other, it’s a blessing
