1. what is learning map?
Learning Map is a series of learning activities designed based on the occupational skills development. The employee can view it as a learning path from novice to expert. These activities can be delivered via traditional methods as well as new learning methods, such as OJT, Coach, Seminars, Sharing and the like. It is based on the requirements of job position and extract the knowledge, skill that the job position requires.

It can help organization understand what organization abilities are required to support its business, to retent the talents.
3. How to draw a learning map?
3.1 three types of learning map
1) learning map including all positions
2) learning map for mission-critical employees, such as management team, bench management team, and new employees.

Position classification - Abilities analysis for each position - Content Design - System development ( such as learning package for promotion, learning package for job rotation, learning package for new employees) - compile learning and development manual

we can evaluate individual's ability with the requirement of his position, find the gap, and decide what learning package is applicable to the individual.
5. how to extract the learning content?
1) job description for the position
2) BEI - use STAR model to interview what the successful employee did during a critical situation and compares to what the normal employee did, then find out the good behavior the successful employee displayed.
STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result. In what situation the person needs to fulfill what tasks, to complete the tasks what actions he took and how is the result?
