I can find hundredsof excuses not to run, and I’m sick of them. So, eventually, I leave only oneoption, which is “no more excuses, just running.
I don’t know if you guys have the same feelings as me.As we all know, Running becomes aprevailing sport event, Marathon is the longest and most difficult race. It's also the most popular one.
Whenever you turn on your cell phone, surf the websites, you can easily find that most celebrities, such as powerful politicians,famous entertaining stars and wealthy entrepreneurs are all interested in running, what's more, many people around us, like your classmates, teachers, good friends, all start to run, so why, why you are just a bystander.
when I’m talking about running , basically I meanjogging, but not racing. I’m now 36 years old, maybe its not easy for me to beatyou young guys in asprint. but I can run 10kilometres, a half marathon,and even much further distance.
As far as I can remember, i have always been a fatfellow, even now, still a little overweighted. The first time I ran wasduring my middle school PE class. It took me more than 10 minutes to finish onekilometer. I told myself, I didn't have the talent , I would never be a goodrunner. but now, after 20 years, I’m surprised by myself, I can say , “yes Ican run, and I am a runner. People do things for a reason, what do we run for?
some are running for health, their innerpeace, for change, or for challenge. Run for inspiration, runto relax, run to get fit, run towin and get beyond. One of my running buddies, the leader of Laipaoba, who had once finished 100 kilometers ultra marathon, called himself Zen runner, it sounds cool, right? For me , The initial reason is to lose weight, Actually, I have lost over 30 kilos in the past 3 years, from 118 to 85 kilos.but now, I run to step out of my comfort zone. Everyone has something that they fear or something make them feel insecure. For many people, running a marathon is a mission impossible. But if you try it, you might have the same feeling like me: every time when I step out of my comfort zone and accomplish something new, I’ll grow stronger and become more confident.
Now you know, there are tons of benefits of running, but you say its not easy to start and stick to it. There arealways some moments of your love for running fading. There is a common sayingthat : pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.Your success is all up to you.
Here are some tips I want to share with you.
1. Buy yourself some professional running
gear. For instance, running tights 、pants,and shoes, as a reward for your hard work. And they will protect you frominjury. never ever wear basketball shoes to run.
2.Join in a local running group.
Though you should do some solo runs, there are many benefits to make a connection with others. Whether you're discussing your past glory days or future running goals, talking about running with other runners can help remind you of why you fall in love with it in the first place.
3.Post your running record on Wechat, if you voiced tothe whole world, it will push you forward.
4.Forget the running pace. Just challenge yourself. There will always be someonefaster than you do. Focus on the improvements you want to make on yourself.
5. Mentor new runners.
One way to show yourself how far you've come is to be a running coach, I don't mean professional one, but just share your running knowledge and experience with others. help your friends and family members shopping for running shoes and gear, inspire them, and train for a race together. when he/she get any progress, you’ll also get a motivation to keep going.Running is a technical and challenging sport.
