Didi Chuxing Launches Robotaxi in Shanghai

China’s ride-hailing giant, Didi Chuxing, announced that its launching an on-demand robotaxi service in Jiading, a Shanghai suburb. Didi said customers can hail an autonomous taxi – which operate with assistance from human drivers – on the Didi app starting last Saturday. 中国叫车巨头滴滴出行宣布在上海郊区嘉定推出按需自动驾驶服务。滴滴表示，从上周六开始，客户可以在滴滴应用上叫到自动驾驶出租车。此款自动驾驶出租车在人类司机的协助下运行。

The company didn’t specify the exact size of the service’s area, but it said it will be available in multiple locations including Shanghai’s Automobile Exhibition Center, the local business districts, subway stations and hotels. 滴滴公司没有具体说明这项服务的具体规模范围，但表示将在包括上海多个地点推出，包括上海汽车展览中心，当地商业区、地铁站和酒店等。
