Report from the WIMUN I - the Capitol And Lincoln Memorial

Sadly, just the time we were freed from the final examination, the trip-the unwilling and mysterious one TO AMERICA-has already set off. This has been the third time for me to go to the US. This time is an utterly the roughest trip that I’ve ever had! The trip is not only going to be for fun but for the mission-the assignment from the Modle United Nation. You could say that it is already out of my league to be in such a challenging task of ours, but wouldn’t you know it's always worth it to give it a little try. But not only that, in a more formal and better saying, is that this is the fate, the destination, the path that I’ll step in sooner or later. Even though maybe I can't celebrate the Lunar New Year with my family, to be a little selfishly, the trip to the heart of the WIMUN, the experience in this most developed country, the wise and creative minds are more valued. Besides, in the rapidly-developing China, I can always be in touch with them in WeChat anyways, there’s literally nothing to be worried about! Since I’m here sitting on the aircraft to Shenzhen, journalizing each and every detail during the trip, there’s really nothing you can regret. Don’t hold anything back!

Capitol Hill, in addition to being a metonym for the United States Congress, is the largest historic residential neighbor in Washington D.C., stretching easterly in front of the United States Capitol along wide avenues. The Capitol building has been the home of the Congress of the United States and the workplace of many residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood since 1800. As the guide's leader visited, we enjoyed a statue of famous paintings and historical celebrities depicting history, witnessed the Parliamentary Assembly, and deeply felt the process and causes of the rapid development of the United States, a young country, as a world superpower. Among them, in the Madison building of the Library of Congress, we have seen the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States, the world's largest treasure trove of knowledge, an important symbol of American knowledge and democracy, and the Library of Congress, which occupies an important place in American culture. According to recent statistics, it contains 75 million works. In the process of understanding, its book reserves of large, reasonable, magnificent momentum, back-to-back so that the sound of praise, drum applause, in the knowledge of the encirclement, we are also amazed at the greatness of human wisdom, as well as the contribution of Thomas Jefferson outstanding, feelings of the vast.

The second sight spot we went is the Lincoln Memorial.It is seen as an eternal statue of the United States and a symbol of Washington, in a straight line with Congress and the Washington Monument. During the tour, we saw Lincoln's Gettysburg speech engraved on the marble wall and his second inaugural speech. The 36 cylinders in the museum represent the 36 states divided by the United States at the time of the death of President Lincoln. The tall Memorial Hall runs through Heaven and earth, and the tall statue of Lincoln is full of eyes and air. We all know that in the past hundred years ago, in this land, Lincoln Tenaciously commanded the army to fight the south, liberated the black slaves, and maintained the reunification of the motherland-a hero in the hearts of the American people. With awe and emotion, we reluctantly said goodbye to the great Lincoln.
