To 2019

On 31st December 2018, my wechat friend moments were filled by farewells to 2018 and celebrations to 2019.

Some stayed up till the last minute of 2018 and counted down to 2019.Some went to bar and made their first drunk in 2019.The so called "aggressive and never left behind" Chinese seemed lost their first game in 2019 with people in Sydney already had their new year's eve firework show three hours ago.

People in different countries celebrated the upcoming 2019 in different ways, amasingly there is one common thing we shared. That's the new year resolution.

Flags like lose weight, read 200 books and be wealthy are most commonly shared. And i'm not surprised when seeing a 10-page long resolution. Instead, my patience and curiosity when showed by that lengthy flags did make me realize that in the future i should learn more about myself.(see? i made a flag. That simple.)

Same opening every year, and in most cases, same ending. Instead of losing weight, ending up buying a larger size pants.Instead of reading 200 books, ending up in the preface.

Having plans unfinished is not what i cared about. Feeling bad about yourself is what really matters.

Farewell to 2017 and farewell to the old unsatisfied YOU. In the meantime, welcoming 2018 and flags for a new YOU. Piles you wanted, little grabbed. History repeats. More expections, more wanted, though, same disappointment to yourself and feeling sorry for yourself.

Maybe it's time to learn to let it go.

It's time to let go of complain.

You can't make everyone satisfied. When you are unsatisfied,regard it the other way. Instead of spending time complainting, find a way to nail it down or clear it out of your mind.

It's time to let go of haste.

Cliche but so true that Rome is not built in one day. You can't become the charisma you in one day. You may not have fit body in a week. You may not meet your Prince Charming the next day. You may not get a promotion even though you've been working in the same position for a year. But once slow down,  you'll agree more with Abraham Lincoln who said I walk slowly but i never walk backwards.

It's time to let go of expectations.

You are promised to embrace a friendlier world. Keep saying hello and smiling to passers-by while not expecting them to smile back to you. Keep helping others out while not expecting them to help you. Keep putting your whole self in your lover while not expecting him/her to love you as much as you do.

Let's see what you'll get when you let it go.
