Read the book with your X-ray eyes.
These rules apply to science as well as poetry, and to any sort of expository.
The first rule, which we discussed in the last chapter, was:Classify the book according to kind and subject matter.
It requires you to state the unity
The second rule—I say second because I want to keep the number of the four rules which comprise the first way of reading-can be expressed as follows: State the unity of the whole book in a single sentence,or at most in several sentences.
The third rule can be expressed as follows:Set fortg the major parts of the book, and showhow these are organized into a whole,by being ordered to one another and to the unity of the whole.
The fourth rule requires you to find out what the author's problems were. The rule is most pertinent,of course,to the great books.
In my opinion,it's very insignificant to find what the book is about.
you can discharge that obligation honestly only by reading the whole book.
Here is an analysis of the first six chapters.

I want to know it before I read.

Three main steps of analysis
The first is the statement of points in each section.I completed the first two stages of the analysis, but not the third.
