“Now I think it’s one of the most useless questions an adult can ask a child—What do you want to be when you grow up? As if growing up is finite. As if at some point you become something and that’s the end.”

“If you don’t get out there and define yourself, you’ll be quickly and inaccurately defined by others.”

高四的时候，普林斯顿大学的升学顾问否定米歇尔，认为她不是上普林斯顿大学的料是，米歇尔觉得:失败是一种感觉，很久后才会变成实际的结果。对我来说，这就是她种下的一粒种子，在我还没有尝试努力前，就暗示我会失败。米歇尔相信，没有任何一个人可以定义她自己。方法可以调整，目标很坚定。她还分享到，在她认识的各行各业的人中，所有人都曾甚至正在被人质疑，但是他们依赖相信他们的人，并不懈的向目标挺近。
