Trust not those temperamental gusts of air,
dear cloud, for they forever courses sway.
one moment zeph’rous fervor with you share
the next aloofness boreal bring you may.
When frosty heart embraces Eurus’ blow,
whose warmth dissolves your every flake of cold.
Those softened tears stream down, and seaward flow,
then vapor, fall again to the path old.
Should wand’ring heart of yours float o’er one vale,
rush not, for you’ve eternal summer’s time.
You’ll shine with purity beneath the veil
of night, not having lost e’en once your prime.
Ere you extend your arms to earth’s embrace
To those inconstant gale waste not your grace.
