个人感悟
我觉得本章的标题 seek first to understand, then to be understood 基本上概括了本章内容。作者首先举了一个配眼镜的例子引出 diagonose 的重要性,接着提出了emphatic listening 的概念,这也是本章最吸引我的地方。
我不是个很会倾听的人虽然我深知其重要性,更不要说 emphatic listening了。现在觉得自己应该首先学会倾听,再慢慢到emphatic listening, 这个才能实现双向沟通。特别喜欢文中的几句话:
You may say you care about and appreciate me. I desperately want to believe that. But how can you appreciate me when you don't even understand me?
