Whether the Chinese government should provide free health care to all the citizens
Nowadays, China is providing health care for everyone in the whole country but in different forms. Obviously, it's not totally free for everyone. Therefore, the debate on whether the Chinese government should provide free health care to all citizens is a hot topic.
For the advantages, free health care does solve the problem. All people won't worry about their health problems anymore, which probably reduces the case of violence and crime. As for the disadvantages, Without any doubt, it will definitely cost quantities of money to deal with. Considering so many Chinese people, the government must face huge economic pressure.
Many people believe that the government must bear full responsibility for providing the money our health care service needs. However, I do not completely agree with the idea
The government will be unable to provide enough money to guarantee the use of the most innovative treatment methods. It is not a secret that medicine and medical equipment are costly. Moreover, the government has several branches of the social sector, such as education and culture, which also do not produce anything, but need funding. Providing enough money for all these spheres will sooner or later result in a budget deficit and, as a result, in the increase of taxes, which means that the main financial burden is on an average citizen again.
In my opinion, an ideal variant will be a combination of all the existing sources of finance. Some rich people may prefer to pay for medical treatment, while the government must necessarily subsidize the health care for children, senior citizens, the unemployed, and the homeless, as these social groups cannot provide for themselves and, thus, are extremely financially vulnerable. However, working adults can use the benefits of medical insurance, which will give them an opportunity for a decent medical service and reduce the general taxation burden.
