What about
What about 是一个提意见的时候用的句式。比如：
1、 what about to do sth? 做什么怎么样。
what about to go fishing?去钓鱼怎么样？
2、 what about +名词？这个东西怎么样？
what about local bike shops?当地的自行车店怎么样？是 What is it about ... 的省略。
How about
作为一句常用的客套话，它后面可接名词、代词或动词形式ing形式，具体用法如下：
功能一：
当对方谈论的事情不明确,需要询问清楚时,可用这一句型.如：
I'd like a cup of tea.How about you?
功能二：
向对方提出建议或请求,相当于句型Would you like...语气很委婉.如：
How about having some bread?＝Would you like some bread?
功能三：
寒暄时用作承接上下文的转折语.如：
I'm a teacher.How about you?
功能四：
询问天气或身体等状况.如：
How about the weather in your city?
How about your father?
功能五：
征求对方的看法或意见.如：
How about this car?

二、征询对方的看法或意见。
例如：

三、询问天气或身体等情况。
例如：

四、寒暄时用作承接上下文的转折语。
例如：
I am from Beijing. What about you? 我是北京人，你呢？
五、对所陈述的情况做出反诘，常给予对方一种暗示。
例如：
—— My memory is good. I’ve never forgotten anything. 我的记忆力很好，从不忘记什么。
—— What about that time you left your key to the office at home? 那次你将办公室的钥匙忘在家里算是怎么回事呀？
一点区别:
- How about 的意思是“认为 …… 怎么样”，更多用于征求意见。
- What about 的意思是“…… 怎么样”，某人经历了什么，你询问他的看法。
