Harry finally found the name of Nicholas Flamel at the back of a Famous Wizard card and Hermione deepened the related information. Nicholas Flamel was the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone.The stone could transform any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life which will make the drinker immortal.Therefore,Voldermort wanted the stone to rebirth but the effort to sneak it out was in vain.

Because of the unkindness of Snape,Harry and his friends wrongly misunderstanded Snape and true plotter was another person dedicated to Voldermort.
