从源码探索Activity的启动过程

Activity是APP开发中用的最多的一个组件,一个应用程序内避免不了多个Activity的跳转,这时有人会问:我的程序就一个Activity!其实,在我们点击APP图标时,就已经是从一个Activity跳转到我们要启动的应用程序的入口Activity了,因为手机的桌面就是一个应用程序(LauncherActivity),当点击图标时就会触发onClick,然后进行一系列的操作。今天的内容暂时不涉及这种启动方式,先从我们平时最常用的startActivity()进行分析。 滴 滴滴~ 上车~~~

1、Activity # startActivity()

根据上面的几次切换,最终调用的是startActivityForResult(),这时会有个问题,startActivityForResult()启动,为什么不会回调onActivityResult呢?这时注意看上面的startActivityForResult()中的第二个参数,是-1;那么能不能这样认为呢,当传递的参数小于0时,都不会回调onActivityResult,实际就是这样的,在后面的分析中会得出答案。现在我们注意下注释1处,这里调用了mInstrumentation.execStartActivity(),mInstrumentation是Instrumentation的对象实例,这里也注意下第二个参数mMainThread.getApplicationThread(),返回的是ApplicationThread对象。记住这里,后面分析时这个东西很关键。现在我们把任务转移到execStartActivity()。

在上面的代码中,把第1步中传过来的ApplicationThread对象的引用赋值给了whoThread,IApplicationThread是一个Binder接口,ApplicationThread继承了IApplicationThread.Stub(实现了IApplicationThread接口)。回到上面代码注释1处,ActivityManager.getService().startActivity(),并且把whoThread作为参数传入。那么ActivityManager.getService()返回的是什么呢?

在上面代码中,getService()返回的是一个IActivityManager对象(IActivityManager是一个Binder接口),创建IActivityManagerSingleton对象时,重写了create(),里面代码的实现是一个典型的进程间通信,实现方式是AIDL(底层原理Binder)。ServiceManager可以理解为系统的服务管家,管理着ActivityManagerService(AMS)、WindowManagerService(WMS)等诸多服务,关于ServiceManager,这里就不多叙述,给大家推荐一篇老罗的文章【Service Manager是如何成为一个守护进程的?即Service Manager是如何告知Binder驱动程序它是Binder机制的上下文管理者。】,回到我们分析的Activity启动流程,我们知道:AMS继承了IActivityManager.Stub,getService()实际返回的是一个远程服务端对象AMS,也就是说ActivityManager.getService().startActivity(),其实是调用了AMS的startActivity()。

在上面的代码中,注意下中文注释的地方,由于代码太多,所以我们不要深入细节,抓着一个点钻,看源码的时候要明确自己的目标,把握整体的流程,要不然会无法自拔。回到文章主题,ActivityRecord记录了Activity相关的启动信息,最后任务切换到了startActivityLocked()方法。用一张图来代替中间的部分:

上面的图片显示了当任务从AMS切换到ActivityStarter的startActivityMayWait()后的总体流程,其中的代码这里不贴出来了。最后会走到realStartActivityLocked(),下面是这个方法的主要内容:

根据上面的代码,app.thread是最初启动的时候Instrumentation#execStartActivity()传入的参数ApplicationThread,ApplicationThread是ActivityThread中的内部类并且继承了IApplicationThread.Stub。绕了一圈,最后任务切换回了客户端,即我们启动的应用程序所在的进程。

执行到scheduleLaunchActivity()时,首先创建一个ActivityClientRecord对象,用于保存服务端AMS传递过来的信息,然后通过sendMessage()发送H.LAUNCH_ACTIVITY进行处理,这里的H是一个Handler对象。

在handleMessage()中回调handleLaunchActivity(),看下handleLaunchActivity()里面做了什么事情。

上面代码注释1处,为当前应用程序获取了一个Window管理服务WindowManagerService的对象,WindowManagerService的职责是管理系统的所有窗口类。注释2处,通过performLaunchActivity()获取一个Activity实例。注释3,如果启动的Activity存在,则执行handleResumeActivity()即onResume的开始。下面我们看看performLaunchActivity()的具体内容:

总结: 在我们调用startActivity()启动一个Activity时,首先会在execStartActivity()中执行ActivityManager.getService(),通过AIDL方式实现进程间通信,使客户端ApplicationThread和服务端AMS建立关联(用Binder实现了跨进程传输)。 在Activity创建的时候,同时也为当前应用的窗口和窗口管理服务WMS建立了关联。在Activity #onResume()中添加视图。
