1. searching for supernova neutrinos with DUNE [2]
DUNE scientists will study streams of neutrinos emitted by exploding stars. DUNE’s unique strength is its sensitivity to a particular type of neutrino called the electron neutrino, which will provide scientists with supernova data not available from any other experiment. Image: Fermilab2.

【1】Questions:
- How often do we expect to see a supernova explosion in the milky way galaxy? We were lucky to see two dozen neutrinos from the 1987A supernova. If we expect 1 explosion in about 100 years, it might be a very long wait before we catch the next one.
