To be an I or a O?
It's been a hot topic for long in both youngsters and adults esp when they first join their jobs or go for a career that is it better to be a specialist in one field just like a letter "I" or to be a generalist in many different academic fields just like a letter "O"? While the answer varies from time to time. In this current knowledge explosion days, it's not fair to give a definite or an absolute answer for all, the answer should depend on the exact fields or the extension you want to go into. To move a small step further, it would be better to be a specialist with a broad systematic knowledge, like a letter "T".
Actuaaly it's not a brand new concept to be said so, in the ancient times, great people be remembered by the history always share the same multiple personal qualities, like Da Vinci, who's not only a great paint, but also a scientist, the first person to study the structure of human beings, a lover and expert of music, sculpture, maths, astronomy, physics etc. That's the "last supper" which made him world wide famous, but it's his other academic studies that made him a even strong person to be admired and remembered.
