V: first, it is to be a good person. You first of all need to be polite, etc.
X: right, anymore?
V: also kids need to have good physical and mental health. Learnt to be resilient in face of difficulty.
And I guess I would not put academic achievement to the top of the list. Kids are different. It is bad to compare them.
X: who gave you more influence on your parenting style?
V: my husband and me discuss all the time and I feel he has made several wise decisions in parenting. Also my mom keeps telling me not to push the kid too hard, otherwise he may fall Ill either psychologically or physically.
Hearing this, I feel so regretful about pushing Maomao to obey certain rules when he was 3. Quite a lot of spanking was used to force him to learn to call me mom or use the toilet rather than poo in pants.
