November 26, 2019, Valery Gergiev brought Wagner's last opera with the  Mariinsky’s singers. The opera lasted more than five hours. I'm lucky to be there.

Wilhelm Richard Wagner, his Influence on music、literature, philosophy and the visual arts  is significant. Film scores citing Wagnerian themes are  Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now, which features a version of the Ride of the Valkyries.

Wagner's operas, writings, politics, beliefs and unorthodox lifestyle made him a controversial figure during his lifetime. Following his death, debate about his ideas and their interpretation, particularly in Germany during the 20th century, has continued.

Adolf Hitler was an admirer of Wagner's music and saw in his operas an embodiment of his own vision of the German nation; in a 1922 speech he claimed that Wagner's works glorified "the heroic of Teutonic nature ... Greatness lies in the heroic."

There continues to be debate about the extent to which Wagner's views might have influenced Nazi‘s thinking. From my perspective, Nazis used those parts of Wagner's thought that were useful for propaganda and ignored or suppressed the rest.

Valery Gergiev, a well-known Russian conductor, artistic director of the Mariinsky Theatre, the London symphony orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, has the title of "music tsar."

There's a lot of news about him, but what I admire most is his concert at the ruins of the Amphitheatre in Palmyra, Syria, on May 5, 2016. As we know, Syria is still in the war, and he can hold a concert there just upon liberation in Palmyra, facing directly the holy sites of human civilization from darkness to the return of light, and with the voice of civilization to meet the original face of civilization, this is the greatest musician.

Palmyra's Amphitheatre is an important cultural site for humanity, which was used as a punishment during the Islamic State occupation.

"Parsifal" is Wagner's last opera, is also the name of the hero in this work, based on the round-table samurai-themed work, describing the process before the hero become a saint. This is an amazing opera and was highly rated.

Gustav Mahler was also presented in 1883 and he wrote to a friend; "I can hardly describe my present state to you. When I came out of the Festspielhaus, I was completely spellbound, I understood that the greatest and most painful revelation had just been made to me, and that I would carry it unspoiled for the rest of my life."

Achille-Claude Debussy in 1903 wrote that musically was: "Incomparable and bewildering, splendid and strong. Parsifal is one of the loveliest monuments of sound ever raised to the serene glory of music."
