-How much time has passed since Chapter 2?

    Several days has passed.

-What are Jack and Ralph doing at the beginning of this chapter?

Jack was hunting for a pig and Ralph was building the shelters.

-How often do they have meetings?

They have meetings twice a day.

-Why does Jack feel he understands the Littluns’ fears?

That’s because he had always been in the forest.

-How does Ralph and Jack’s relationship develop?

Their relationship got a little bit intense since Ralph had been blaming Jack for not killing a pig successfully.

-Where does Simon go and what does he do at the end of the chapter?

He went deep into the forest and reach a place where great sunshine could be experienced.

-Use Jack’s actions to explain what type of person he is.

The boys who went hunting acted more aggressively towards other boys. By contrast, the boys who chose to build the shelters were more gentle and civilized in communications.

-How does chapter three change the perception of the island?

A feeling of mystery and unknown had been added on the island. The atmosphere became ghastly.

-Why weren’t they allowed to talk about the snakes?

That’s because snake represents evil in the Bible. As Christians, the boys could not talk about snakes.
