瞧，这个一脸生气、头戴蓝色帽子、身穿蓝色背带裤的小女孩是Susie。她为什么生气呢，原来呀她不想睡午觉！爸爸想了好多方法让Susie变累变困，可是最后呢，Susie没睡着，爸爸自己倒是累睡着了。

"It's Susie's nap time, " Dad said.
爸爸说，“Susie的午睡时间到了”。
Susie shook her head." No nap. Susie isn't tired."
Susie却摇摇头说，“不想睡午觉。Susie不累”。
"Then we'll go for a walk first."
“要不，我们先去散会儿步吧。”
Dad zipped Susie into her jacket and buttoned himself into his coat.
爸爸给Susie穿上夹克衫，给自己穿上外套。
They walkedpast the playground, past the swings, past the man selling pretzels on the corner, and home.
他们走过操场，经过秋千，路过街角卖椒盐卷饼的小商贩，然后回到了家。
Dad unzipped Susie's jacket and unbuttoned his coat.
爸爸脱下Susie的夹克衫，解开自己的外套。
"Are you nice and tired now, Sweetie?" he asked."
他问，“小甜心，你现在觉得累了吗？”
No nap, "Susie said,"We'll dance,"Dad said."Dancing is very tiring."
Susie回答，“不想睡午觉。”爸爸说，“我们跳舞吧，跳舞很累人的！”
They boogied and bongoed and did the creepy camel.
于是，他们随着音乐跳舞打鼓，模仿步履缓慢的骆驼走路。
"No nap,"Susie said.
Susie还是说，“不想睡午觉。”
"Let's do some exercises, "Dad said.
爸爸说，“让我们一起做运动吧。
"Want to, Susie?"
Susie，想吗？”
They did push-ups, and windmills,
他们一起做俯卧撑，翻跟斗，
and stood on their heads.
还有倒立。
"I bet you're tired now, Susie?"Dad said.
爸爸说，“我敢肯定你现在肯定累了，Susie？”
Susie shook her dead." No nap. "
Susie还是摇摇头，“不想睡午觉。”
"Grrr,"Dad growled in a voice like a lion.
“额，” 爸爸低声咕哝着，声音像狮子一样。
"I'm going to tell you a story, Susie.
“我给你讲个故事吧，Susie。
I'm going to sing you a song.
我给你唱首歌。
Then you'll lie down like a good little girl.
然后，你像乖乖的小女孩一样躺下来。
Daddy promised Mommy that Susie would take a nap. "
爸爸答应过妈妈，Susie会睡午觉的。”
"No nap,"Susie said.
“不想睡午觉。” Susie说。
Dad slumped on Susie's bed.
爸爸瘫坐在Susie的床上。
"Teddy's napping.Dolly's napping.
“泰迪睡着了，Dolly睡着了。
The big, yellow dump truck is napping.
这辆黄色的大卡车睡着了。
Come lie next to Daddy. "
过来躺在爸比旁边。”
Susie lay down.
Susie躺了下来。
"Susie needs a drink of water,"she said.
Susie说，“Susie想要一杯水。”
"I'll get it,"Dad said."You stay here, nice and quiet."
爸爸说，“我去拿，你待在这里，乖乖地，安安静静地。”
"Susie needs her balloon,"she said,
Susie说，“Susie需要她的气球，
"and her hat with the flowers on it,
还有她那顶有花在上面的帽子，
and her bubbles, and her sunglasses.
还有她的泡泡，还有她的太阳镜。”
"Susie needs her pink socks, too,
Susie说，“Susie也需要她的粉红色袜子，
and her tumble money,"Susie said.
还有她的零花钱。”
"OK?" Dad sat on the bed and took Susie's hand.
“这样好吗？”爸爸坐在床上，拉着Susie的小手说。
"Let's pretend we're little mice,so warm and snuggly here in our mouse bed."
“让我们一起假装我们是两只小老鼠，暖洋洋地，舒服地蜷缩在我们的小老鼠床上。”
He lay down and closed his eyes. "Sleepy little mice who don't talk and who don't move and who stay very, very quiet. "
说完，他躺下来，闭上了眼睛，“好困好困的小老鼠，不讲话，不动，非常、非常安静的躺着。”
"Daddy?" Susie whispered. But Dad didn't answer.
“爸比？” Susie轻声呼唤着。但是，爸爸没有回答。
"Daddy,I love you."Susie put her glasses on Dad's nose and her hat with the flowers on his head. She kissed his chin beneath his snore.
“爸比，我爱你。” Susie把她的太阳镜放到爸爸的鼻子上，把她那顶有花在上面的帽子戴在他的头上。在爸爸的如雷鼾声下，她亲了亲爸爸的下巴。
"Yoo-hoo!" someone called. Susie jumped up. "Mommy's home."
“哟呼！” 听， 有个人在喊。Susie跳了起来，“妈咪回来了！”
Mom ran in the room, swept Susie up, and hugged her tight.
妈妈跑进房间，一把抱起Susie，紧紧地搂在怀里。
She glanced around. " What in the world happened here?"
她环顾四周，“这里究竟发生了什么事情？”
"Shhh!" Susie whispered. "Poor Daddy got tired. He's napping."
“嘘！”Susie轻声说，“可怜的爸比太累了，她正在睡觉。”
"And what about you, little girl?"Mom asked.
妈妈问，“那你呢，小女孩？”
"No nap,"Susie said.
“不想睡午觉，” Susie回答。
