昨天晚上，我突然觉得George Owell写得《1984》还是挺震撼人心的。小说还是英文的，还能吸引我一直看到半夜。说实在的，成年以后，看书多是为了消遣，能让人读到半夜，不忍释手的书还真是不多。而且看完之后一年多了，还是让人回想起来依然觉得内心悚然。
它的人物特别少，除了男女主人公，其他人几乎面目都是不清的。故事场景也不多，如果是拍成电影的话，应该场景道具上都花不了几个钱。就是家里，办公室，酒吧，幽会的地方，监狱。涉及人心，人性地细致刻画，也不用人物独白那种形式，就是从第三者视角，白描式地描写人物的语言，动作，非常简单，平静，甚至抑制，但是就是把那种刻骨的恐惧传达地淋漓尽致。
几个片段，对于刻画人物内心非常到位，男主人公小的时候，不顾母亲和婴儿妹妹的死活，夺走了她们仅剩的口粮。此生再未相见。另外，女主人公主动接近他的时候，他一直以为她是组织上派来监视他的。女主想得是如何向他表达爱意。他那时其实想的是，如何用街边的砖头砸死女主，而不被人发现。和蔼可亲，貌似很有品味和男主意气相投，惺惺相惜的旧货店主其实是秘密警察，只是为了诱捕男主这样的知识分子。
人性都有黑暗的一面。男主也曾被给予美好的爱情，也曾想要挣扎，但是在严酷的环境中，他的挣扎是徒劳的。
相比之下，哈利波特还是蛮治愈的。情节简单，人物性格也很单纯。虽然一直有伏地魔存在，但是整个霍格沃茨学院还是充满了魔幻和温暖的。
看一部小说就走进一个世界，很多的人物陪伴着你好久。文字还可以任你天马行空的想象。真是最好的娱乐。
