These days Sydney is experiencing a deadly heat wave with the temperature as high as 42 ℃ in the daytime. Although I had already been told before that summer could be rather hot in AU, I never expected such an extreme weather. Please don't laugh at me being so short-sighted or overreacting, as a genuine northeastern girl who's used to having four distinct seasons, I really prefer to live somewhere cooler so that I can at least think in a most clear way...
What's more torturing was the central air conditioner in the house has suddenly gone on a strike since Christmas holiday, making the indoor air burning hot and I could even feel myself melting. Amy told me that it needed to be replaced and it would take some time until the air conditioner company sends out a guy to reinstall the piping. In the meanwhile, we could do nothing else but try to cool ourselves off by an electric fan. Fine, I think I can take it...
However, I got somehow confused as by now it has been over a fortnight but there hasn't yet been any updated info regarding the installation schedule. What's more, I could observe that Amy and her family would instantly go back to their bedroom after supper leaving the door closed. It turned out that they've put a newly bought air conditioner in their bedroom, ONLY.
Hopefully I've misunderstood them, maybe they'd like to take this as a transitional measure or they probably had to do so just for the sake of their baby's health. I must confess that I did feel ignored and disrespected seeing this scene. But anyway, I'm just a passerby and I would neither waste my time in complaining about these trifle things nor drag myself into a so-called trust crisis. Instead, I must come up with an idea asap as I'm indeed suffering from the high temperature not only physically but also mentally.
So from perspective of problem-solving, during work I'll continue to use the fragmented time to study and after work I'm going to the library to study for another a couple of hours before walking back home. As for supper, I could temporarily take some snacks as an alternative, no worries!
Brilliant! Just cheer up and be happy, my dear Eva! Tolerance would bring you further so just embrace it and you'd earn the respect you deserve! Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!
