There's no such thing as a synonym
A synonym is defined as a word that means the same thing as another word. Examples: large and big are synonyms, as are fast and quick, rotten and moldy… you get the idea.
Good writing relies on knowing how to use these subtle differences in words to describe more accurately the image you hope to achieve, to give a message that might not otherwise be there, to hint at events, to make sentences seem less bland, and a variety of other important effects. To be clear, I'm not saying, as is all too often suggested, to replace so-called 'overused' words with other ones for no reason; I'm saying that the right word has no replacement and it's your job as the writer to find the right word; to find one that is almost the right word is lazy.

- 说得好，其实世界上没有两个词的意思完全一样，所谓的同义词只是在大方向上勉强可以归为同一类的词语。
- 在写同题诗的时候，有个人告诉我，要把诗写好就是要好好说话，我觉得就是那么回事，每一件事都有不同的表述方式，但是总有一些特别切题的词能够从众多描述中脱颖而出，他们就是那些right words.
- 最后那两段文字的区别还是很明显的，就像是一个懵懵懂懂的小孩子在看了一段录像后的描述和一个亲身经历过的人说出来的那种区别。我很喜欢这个对比。
